For more than 175 years the traditional craft of papermaking has been practised in Oberschmitten, a small town in the district of Nidda.
Over the years today`s Spezialpapierfabrik Oberschmitten has developed into a modern company.
The medium sized paper mill specializes in the manufacturing of Glassine and Capacitor paper and distributes its products all over the world.
Decades of accumulated experience in the production and handling of paper gives SPO comprehensive “know – how” in the paper sector which is highly appreciated by our customers.
Products
Spezialpapierfabrik Oberschmitten is dedicated to the manufacture of special papers.
There are two distinct product lines:
One is Glassine Paper, the other is Capacitor Paper.
Glassine paper has applications in the packaging area for food and non-food products as well as in stationery. Capacitor paper is used exclusively in the electrical industry.
Spezialpapierfabrik Oberschmitten is the market leader in the manufacture of coloured glassine papers. No other company offers such a big colour variety as the Spezialpapierfabrik.
Depending on quantity we also create bespoke colours for our customers.
The capacitor sector of Spezialpapierfabrik Oberschmitten offers a wide range of different products. We try to find solutions for every need. We place individual products and new developments at our customers' disposal.
Seit mehr als 175 Jahren wird in Oberschmitten, einem Stadtteil von Nidda, das traditionelle Papierhandwerk ausgeübt.

Das mittelständige Unternehmen hat sich auf die Herstellung von Pergamynpapier und Kondensatorenpapier spezialisiert und vertreibt diese weltweit.
Durch die jahrelange Erfahrung im Umgang mit Papieren verfügt die SPO über ein großes Know How im Papiersektor, das in Kundenkreisen sehr geschätzt wird.
