Laidler Certification is a Notified Body appointed by the DTI and recognized by the European Commission (number 0870). One of only a small number of Notified Bodies in the UK, it provides the recognition and credibility of Laidler Associates.
There are three main areas in which Laidler Certification can provide inspections: Annex IV Machinery for the European Machinery Directive, Technical File sign off for the EMC Directive and Third Party machinery inspections for the Semiconductor Industry.
All machines sold in the European Economic Area (EEA) from January 1st 1995, must comply with the Machinery Directive and be safe. There are few exclusions to the Directive making this one of the most significant of all the New Approach Directives. Machinery that is listed in Annex IV of the Directive has to be approved by a Notified Body. Laidler Certification is a Notified Body for the Machinery Directive, Laidler Certification can complete the conformity assessment procedure including:
•EC Type Examination
•Assessment and storage of Technical Files
•Third Party Attestation
•Independent, Third Party audits on all machinery.
•Quality Assurance Route (Annex X)
EMC Directive
Technical File sign off is one of the compliance routes for the EMC Directive and Laidler Certification are able to complete this procedure.
